Important requirements to complete the electronic application:
· Must meet the eligibility requirements.
· Complete the Scholarship Application Form (see below).
· Complete a 600-word essay and paste to the application. (see topics below)
· Upload a copy of your most recent transcript – if required.
· Upload up to TWO (2) "character" recommendation letters from non-family related persons (ex. teacher, professor, advisor, counselor, principal, employer) – if required.
Essay Topics
Military Spouses:
· How has being a military spouse shaped your personal and professional goals?
· What does service mean to you, and how has your role as a military spouse shaped your perspective on service?
· Discuss a time when you had to balance multiple roles and responsibilities due to your spouse’s military service. How did you manage it?
High School Students:
· Who has been the most influential person in your life, and how have they shaped your values and aspirations?
· What is a significant problem facing your generation, and how do you propose to address it?
· What motivates you to pursue higher education, and what do you hope to achieve?
College-Age Students:
· Describe a situation in which you took initiative and made a difference. What were the challenges, and what was the impact?
· Reflect on a time when you had to balance multiple responsibilities (e.g., academics, work, family). How did you manage it, and what did you learn?
· Describe an academic project, research, or experience that has had a profound impact on you. What did you learn, and how has it influenced your academic path?
Essay Reminders: Essays will be copied and pasted in Section 5 of the application. You will respond to one of the provided prompts in an essay no longer than 600 words. Your essay will be evaluated on clarity, organization of ideas, originality, creativity of content, and usage of the standard English language. No formatting rules apply to this essay.

The SSC is committed to helping our military spouses and children further their educational endeavors through our annual scholarship program. Through fundraising at Hangar Holiday and the Sheppard Thrift Shop, we are able to award multiple scholarships to military spouses and dependent children.
The Sheppard Spouses’ Club operates as a private, 501(c)4 non-profit organization as defined in the Air Force Instruction 34-223 and in accordance with all applicable civil and military laws and regulations.
